Whale Watching Season

Naturaliste Charters invites you to experience the breathtaking spectacle of whale migration along Western Australia’s South West coast. From May to August, tours depart from the picturesque town of Augusta, where humpback and southern right whales can be seen during their northern migration to warmer breeding grounds.

Flinders Bay offers close, reliable sightings and a dramatic coastal setting that makes Augusta one of the best whale watching spots in the country. From August to November, the action continues in Dunsborough, where Naturaliste Charters offers tours to witness the whales on their southern migration back toward Antarctic waters.

The calm, sheltered waters of Geographe Bay provide ideal conditions for viewing humpbacks, with the occasional appearance of a blue whale adding to the wonder. With expert guides, a custom-built vessel and a passionate crew, Naturaliste Charters ensures an unforgettable encounter with the wild. To book your tour, call 08 9750 5500 or book online here and get ready for the experience of a lifetime.

Pair’d Festival

Pair’d Festival is returning to the South West, November 21st to 23rd, celebrating the best of food, wine, music, and community. It’s the perfect time to indulge in the region’s vibrant flavours and festive atmosphere.

Make the most of your festival experience by booking your stay with Hideaway Group. With our range of comfortable and well-located accommodations across the region, you’ll be close to all the action while enjoying a relaxing retreat after the celebrations.

The Western Australia Margaret River Pro

The Western Australia Margaret River Pro is one of only three Australian events on the prestigious World Surf League (WSL) World Championship Tour (CT), with the world’s top professional surfers travelling to Margaret River to compete.

The 2026 tour returns to Margaret River for 10 days from 17 April as stop number two on the championship tour schedule.

The 2026 season will mark the 50th year of professional surfing, featuring 12 stops across nine countries, including a refreshed format, an expanded women’s field, and an all-in Pipe Masters finale. As one of the sport’s most powerful and unpredictable waves, Margaret River continues to play a key role in shaping the World Title race.

Spectators can watch all the action live and free at Surfers Point, with the bulk of the competition taking place on Main Break and The Box. The event hub has a true festival vibe with big screens showing replays, expert commentary, food trucks and merchandise stands. But perhaps best of all, young hopefuls can get up close and personal with their surfing stars who take their time after each heat to chat to groms who line the walkway to collect autographs and selfies.
